Mrs Roberts was shocked when she discovered the true cost of her Payment
Protection Policy so she turned to Portal Claims for help.
- She took out a 7 year loan with the Yorkshire Bank who added single premium PPI
to protect the payments.
- Mrs Roberts never received a policy document so she didn't realise that the PPI
policy only lasted for 5 years, even though her PPI payments lasted for 7 years
on the loan agreement.
- Portal Claims submitted a complaint to the Yorkshire Bank who rejected it. An appeal
was therefore submitted to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) for adjudication.
- The appeal was upheld by the FOS and Yorkshire bank offered Mrs Roberts £5,300 which
she accepted.
