Q: Can I reclaim charges myself?

Yes. You would need to have all the letters in place and be positive in all negotiations with the bank, ask all the correct questions and potentially be prepared to issue court proceedings. You would also need to be prepared to naviagte your way around the complaint procedures and be confident that you were not being fobbed off. If you have the confidence to do all of this then you should make the complaint yourself.
